It’s warm again in Boston. I love it. No scarf or mittens again, walked to the bus with my jacket unbuttoned! No workout today. It’s rest day. I’m sore and tired from pushing hard in my workouts all week. I was REALLY tempted to just go out and do 3 miles this morning because of the weather but I have to take care of my foot and I know it needs rest.
My week didn’t really start off to well but in the end, it turned into a great week. I’ve got some fun and exciting plans for tonight and the weekend. I’m treating myself to a manicure at lunch and bought a new dress last night. I had a blast shopping and trying on summer things. All of my running, spinning, lifting is paying off. It was so fun to be in a dressing room and actually enjoy trying on clothes. Years ago I started running to lose weight, but now I run because I love it. I will say that when you do something you love and develop a better body image of yourself because of it, then you really have the best of both worlds.
I also signed-up for the Chicago Marathon yesterday! I know I’m crazy, I’m still struggling to run Boston at the moment. I wanted to run Chicago last year but didn’t and Meredith is heading out to run with her friend Tricia, so why not? I also spent a day in Chicago last spring but really want to see and explore the city this time. My Aunt is also looking for a reason to visit the Windy city so I will probably have quite the family cheering team traveling with me. I will take a good two months off from distance running after the Boston marathon and hopefully my foot will heal once and for all and I’ll be ready to start training in late June again!
Tomorrow is an “18 mile run” day which I won’t be doing but I will be running 8-10ish and then of course the bike/elliptical for the rest of the 2 hours and 40 minutes. (Ugh – I just want to run)
